Mr. Munish Puri, Advocate, for the petitioner. ***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Petitioner served in the Irrigation Department. He would superannuate on 31.03.2019. In terms of Policy framed by the Punjab Government, he applied for extension of service. His prayer has been rejected vide order dated 07.01.2019, Annexure P-4. Operative part of the order reads as under:- "With regard to the subject cited above, an application for awarding extension of one year in service period to Sh. Bodh Raj, Supervisor, son of Sh. Chhajju Ram, is received vide above referred letter, which case is being sent back in original with an intimation that Department (Finance Personnel Branch), Chandigarh vide letter No.22/2/2-12-3 F.P. 2/607 dated 26.11.2012, the Supervisor category is surplus at Ranjit Sagar Dam & Shahpur Kandi Dam Project, hence the said official cannot be granted extension for one year in service period, hence the case is hereby rejected."
