The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of: (i) order dated 30.04.1994 (Annexure P-1) whereby he was dismissed from service;

(ii) order dated 15.05.1998 (Annexure P-2) whereby his appeal has been rejected and;

(iii) order dated 27.10.1999 (Annexure P-5) and order dated 19.09.2000 (Annexure P-6) whereby his revision and mercy petition has been dismissed.

The petitioner joined Punjab Police as Constable on 16.10.1989. He came to be dismissed from service vide order dated Anju Goel 2024.05.16 17:20 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP-723-2001 (O&M) 30.04.1994 on account of absence from duty for 66 days. He preferred an appeal before Appellate Authority against order of dismissal which came to be dismissed on the ground of being time barred. He further unsuccessfully preferred a revision and mercy petition. 3.

The petitioner was habitual absentee which is evident from the fact that even in the short tenure of 03 years, he remained absent on 05 occasions.

The petitioner was part of an Armed Force i.e. Punjab Police. Discipline is foundation of every Armed Force. The petitioner remained absent on multiple occasions in a short span of 3-4 years. He was dismissed in 1994 and a period of 03 decades has passed away. 5.

Keeping in view the factual position and lapse of time, this Court does not find it appropriate to interfere with the impugned orders. 6.

Dismissed.

Pending miscellaneous application, if any, shall also stand disposed of.
