**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India is, inter alia, for directing the official respondents No.2 & 3 to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent No.4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are senior citizens, who are being harassed by respondent No.4, who is their daughter-in-law, on one pretext or the other. He further submits that though representation dated 30.12.2020 (Annexure P-1) was made to the Police Commissioner, Punjab Police, Ludhiana, however, no action thereon has been taken so far.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. P.S. Walia, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 (State). Copy of the petition has already been supplied to the State through e-mail.
