(Oral) The petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a writ of certiorari quashing the office orders dated 05.05.1998, Annexures P-8 & P-9, whereby the petitioners, who had been working as Punjabi Teachers on adhoc basis, were relieved from service.

Learned State counsel contends that the petitioners were appointed on adhoc basis, and as per instructions dated 06.08.1998, Annexure P-7, they had to be relieved on appointment/posting of regularly selected candidates in the district. The only reason to relieve them was, the posting of regularly selected Punjabi Teachers.

In view thereof, there is no merit in the petitioners' claim. 4.
Dismissed.
