Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.48 dated 02.06.2016 under Sections 406/498A/506 IPC registered at Police Station Kathu Nangal, District Amritsar. This matter was placed before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court to explore the possibility of an amicable resolution of the dispute. The parties have resolved the matter between them. The terms and conditions of the settlement have been reduced into writing on 17.02.2017. The parties have decided to part ways. Learned counsel for the complainant affirms the factum of settlement between the parties. It is submitted that in view thereof there is no objection on behalf of the complainant to the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Hardeep Singh, submits that the petitioner has joined investigation and he is not required for custodial interrogation. No recovery is to be effected from him. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances as above but without commenting upon or expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this petition is allowed.
