Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks withdrawal of this petition. However, he submits that petitioner is a student and has to appear in annual exams, which are scheduled from 28.05.2018 to 11.06.2018. In order to facilitate him to appear in the exams, he may be allowed interim bail during that period.

In view of submission of learned counsel for the petitioner, this petition is dismissed as withdrawn with direction to the petitioner to surrender before the Illaqa/Duty Magistrate by tomorrow. On his appearance, he be taken into custody and allowed interim bail till 11.06.2018 on furnishing bonds to the satisfaction of Illaqa/Duty Magistrate. He will again surrender before the Illaqa/Duty Magistrate or Sachin Mehta 2018.05.25 16:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

On his surrender, the investigating officer may seek police remand for custodial interrogation of the petitioner, if required, on or after 12.06.2018. The benefit of interim bail has been allowed to the petitioner only in order to facilitate his appearance in his annual exams, subject to terms as follows:- (i) that the petitioner shall make himself available for interrogation by the police as and when required; (ii) that the petitioner shall not, directly or indirectly, make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the accusation against him so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the Court or to any police officer;

(iii) that the petitioner shall not leave India without the prior permission of the Court;

It is however, made clear that in the event of failure of petitioner in surrendering before the Illaqa/Duty Magistrate on 12.06.2018, the Investigating Officer can proceed further to arrest him. ( SURINDER GUPTA ) May 25, 2018 JUDGE Sachin M.
