******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner No.1 and 2 are major and performed marriage on 01.04.2022 against the wishes of respondents No.5 to 10. That petitioner No.3 is mother and petitioner No.4 is sister of petitioner No.2. That respondents No.5 to 10 are extending threats to cause harm to the petitioners and in this regard petitioners have given representation dated 15.03.2022 (Annexure P-4) but the police authorities failed to take any action and that even now the private respondents are giving threats to petitioners. 2.

Mr. Jasjeet Singh Dhaliwal, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4 and on instructions from ASI Lakhwinder Singh submits that the private respondents got recorded their statements that they never objected to marriage of petitioner No.1 and 2. State counsel further submits that if any representation is pending, the concerned authority will look into the matter and take action in accordance with law.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that as petitioner No.1 is pregnant and due to the threats given by private respondents she is unable to live along with her husband in her matrimonial house. 5.
In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohali to consider representation dated 15.03.2022 (Annexure P-4) and to take action if so warranted in accordance with law within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
