The present Civil Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to sanction the mutation and transfer the revenue entries in favour of the petitioner in respect of the immovable property purchased by the petitioner through auction conducted by respondent No.2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an auction purchaser and a right has been vested in the petitioner with regard to the land, which was the subject matter of the auction. He further submitted that thereafter the mutation was to be sanctioned in favour of the petitioner but the Tehsildar is sitting over the matter and in this way, even a representation was filed to the Tehsildar vide Annexure P-4 but neither any RAKESH KUMAR 2026.07.03 15:24 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-7019-2026(O&M) -2action has been taken nor any order has been passed. He submitted that the prayer of the petitioner is limited to the extent that the representation filed by the petitioner to the concerned Revenue Officer with regard to his right to get the land mutated be decided by passing an order in accordance with law.

At this stage, Ms. Shruti, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab submitted that she has instructions to state that on the application /representation (Annexure P-4), the concerned Revenue Officer will take appropriate action and decide the same strictly in accordance with law, within a period of one month from today.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in view of the statement made by the learned State counsel, the present petition may be disposed of.
