Present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India in the nature of mandamus seeking direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner which is in danger at the hands of respondents No.4 to 19. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a civil dispute exists between the petitioner and respondent No. 7, as a forged and fabricated Will is under challenge before the Civil Court, which has already issued notices in the matter. However, respondent No. 7, being an influential person, allegedly attempted to take possession of the land in question with the assistance of the local police. It is further submitted that the petitioner and his female family members were detained at the police station. Mr. Adesh Pal Singh, AAG, Punjab, accepted notice on behalf of respondent-State and submitted that the representation has been received; both the parties were called, and enquiry has been initiated by SPD, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Keeping in view the contentions raised by learned counsel for the petitioner and learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fatehgarh Sahib, to consider the representation dated 08.01.2026 (Annexure P-2) and to take steps in accordance with law.
