(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to take action on the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-17) in accordance with law; and to protect the petitioners from being implicated in false case at the behest of respondents No. 6 to 15.

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the present petition be disposed of in view of the short reply dated 06.02.2024 filed by way of an affidavit of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (City), Moga, District Moga on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 5; wherein it is stated that the said matter is now pending before the learned trial Court and no longer pending before the police.
