Apprehending threat to her life and liberty from the hands of private respondents, petitioner has filed the present petition with a prayer to provide adequate protection to her.

While mentioning factual backdrop of the case, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner, a Commerce Graduate was working as a cashier at M/s Summit Sales, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Respondent No.5-Hardeep Singh used to visit the sales centre during the course of her employment. Both of them got married in April 2016 and are blessed with a male child. However, the conduct and behaviour of Respondent No. 5 underwent a drastic and adverse change, as he started maintaining illicit relationships with multiple women. He is alleged to have kept a paramour in a neighbouring house. When confronted, he did not give any satisfactory reply. Even his parents did not make any efforts to amicably resolve the dispute between them.

Petitioner has also levelled allegations against her father-in-law and has alleged that she was subjected to physical violence as well as sexual harassment by him, which led her to leave her matrimonial home. Even the minor child of petitioner was forcibly taken away from her. When all the facts came to the notice of the Police Authorities, they did not take any action. Primarily with this backdrop, petitioner has filed the present MANOJ KUMAR 2026.03.12 03:25 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order petition seeking the relief as mentioned above.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the complaint dated 14.11.2025 (Annexure P.3) as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks, in accordance with law.
