In the present petition, the prayer of the petitioner is for quashing the impugned order dated 22.09.2001 (Annexure P-4) passed by respondent No. 7 and for issuance of direction to authorities concerned to recount the votes polled in favour of the contesting candidates and declare the petitioner as elected Sarpanch of village Sudaka. 2.

Today, no one has appeared on behalf of the parties. 3.

It may be noticed that the present petition was filed 24 years ago and keeping in view the prayer made in the present petition, no effective relief can be granted to the petitioner as of now and therefore, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition. 4.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of, at this stage. 5.

Pending civil miscellaneous application, if any, stands disposed of.
