**** SANJAY VASHISTH, J. (Oral) Petitioners i.e. Joginder Singh, aged 70 years and Sukhdev Singh, aged 69 years have filed the present petition seeking issuance of directions to respondents No. 2 to 4, to provide protection of lives and liberty of the petitioners, at the hands of private respondents No. 5 and 6. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 5Gurpreet Singh, who is the real nephew of the petitioners, has moved a compliant before the police against the petitioners. Thereafter, District Police Administration started calling the petitioners at police station unnecessarily and thus, caused undue interference in their peaceful lives.

Regarding the said harassment caused by the police officials i.e. respondent No. 3 and 4, one representation dated 07.03.2023 (Anneuxre P-4), sent through e-mail dated 08.03.2023, had been submitted to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh sahib, Punjab, but no heed is being paid to the grievances of the petitioners.

Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. J.S. Arora, DAG, Punjab, who has possessed with an advance copy of paper book, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 4 (State).

Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Jasvir SIngh, informs the Court that one complaint had been moved by respondent No.5 against the petitioners by RIYA 2023.03.29 13:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

2023:PHHC:046790 CRWP-3074-2023 (O&M) - 2 - dialing at telephone No. 112, therefore, to sort out the disputes, respondent No. 4-SHO, Police Station, Sirhind, District Fatehgarh Sahib, called the petitioners and respondent No. 5 in the police station/police post. However, only respondent No. 5 reached to the police station and none of the petitioner reached there. Considering the dispute of tube-well connection and supplying of the water, the said complaint moved by respondent No. 5, was consigned to the record room. However, ASI Jasvir Singh, who is present in the Court, submits that there is no point of harassing the petitioners by causing the undue interference in their peaceful lives. He further submits that simple attempt was made for settling the dispute amongst the family members i.e. petitioners and respondents No. 5 and 6.

Believing the statement of ASI Jasvir Singh, to be true, this Court does not find any reason to proceed further for issuing any direction as sought by the petitioners, therefore, present petition stands disposed of. However, it would be expected that the District Police Administration would not harass the petitioners on account of any civil dispute amongst family members.

Disposed of.
