IN THE HIGH COUR T OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH
CR-1438-2025 (O&M) Date of Decision : 10.03.2025 Shamim Ahmad ....Petitioner
VERSUS
Harbhajan Singh ....Respondent CORAM : HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE ALKA SARIN Present :
Mr. S.K. Jain, Advocate for the petitioner.
Mr. Jagdish Manchanda, Advocate for the respondent. ALKA SARIN, J. (Oral) 1.
Present revision petition has been filed seeking issuance of directions to the Appellate Authority concerned for decision on the stay application filed in the appeal being RA-83-2024. 2.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent has informed the Court that since there was no stay operating, the possession has been taken from the petitioner-tenant by following the due process of law and the same has been handed over to the respondent-landlord. 3.
In view of the above, there is no requirement of passing any direction for expeditious disposal of the case. In any case, the dashboard of the District Courts, Chandigarh, available on the website of National Judicial Data Grid, reveals pendency of more than 1200 such appeals including 5 to 7 years old.
