Ms. Sony, Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No. 2. She confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question.
5.
In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 25 dated 28.02.2024 under Sections 323, 324, 34 IPC registered at Police Station Machhiwara Sahib District Khanna and all the subsequent proceedings arising out of the same qua the petitioners on the basis compromise dated 28.02.2025 (Annexure P-2) shall stand quashed qua the petitioner subject to payment of Rs.5,000/- as costs to be paid to the High Court Legal Services Committee. 8.
