(ORAL) Present writ petition has been filed for directing respondent No.1 to decide appeal No.681 of 2022 (Annexure P-1) titled as Gurmail Singh vs. Gram Panchayat village Chak Bilgan, pending for 10.04.2024 expeditiously or in a time bound manner as the aforesaid appeal is pending with the aforesaid authority i.e. respondent No.1 for last more than 1 year and 8 months and the same was fixed for arguments since 22.12.2022, however arguments in the aforesaid appeal has never been heard till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the appeal filed by respondent No.3 is pending before respondent No.1 since December, 2022 and the same is not being heard till date. He further submits that now the appeal is fixed for 10.04.2024. Notice of motion to the official respondents at this stage. CWP No.6480 of 2024 -2- 2024:PHHC:038279 On asking of the Court, Mr. Navneet Singh, Sr. DAG, Punjab appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State. He submits that the appeal filed by respondent No.3 would be decided expeditiously.

In view of the above position, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 i.e. the Joint Development Commissioner, Punjab to take up the appeal and decide the same after hearing both the parties in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
