The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport. He is further seeking direction to respondents to act upon legal notice/representation dated 15.11.2023 (Annexure P-4). 2.

The petitioner was issued passport on 04.02.2013 which was valid upto 03.02.2023. He applied for re-issuance of passport on 18.04.2023. In the application, there was clerical mistake with respect to location of jurisdictional police station.

waives service. She submits that application of the petitioner was processed and it was found that he has also filed another application. To ascertain status of said application, notice dated 13.02.2024 was issued to him. He has not responded to said notice. If he files response to said notice, the passport authority, thereafter, would decide his application seeking passport within eight weeks.

The petition stands disposed of with liberty to petitioner to file response to notice dated 13.02.2024 issued by respondents. The passport authority shall decide his application seeking re-issuance of passport within eight weeks from the date of filing response to the aforesaid notice.
