This petition is filed by the street vendors with the prayer to permit them to deposit the outstanding dues within a short period. 2.

It transpires that in the proceedings before the appellate authority constituted under the Street Vendors Act, 2014, opportunity to deposit the defaulted amount was granted to all the petitioners. Such deposits were to be made in three installments. Though the petitioners deposited the first installment, thereafter they failed to deposit it. It is in this context that the present writ petition has been filed.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are poor street vendors and due to financial stringency, they could not deposit the amount. Statement is made before the Court that even if 10 days' time is allowed to the petitioners, they will deposit the entire outstanding amount in MOHIT GOYAL 2026.04.10 11:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Mr. Sanjiv Ghai, learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing for Municipal Corporation has furnished a chart today in the Court to the counsel for the petitioners specifying the dues outstanding against each of the petitioners. He also states that even the first installment was paid by petitioner No.1 only, and not by others.

Be that as it may, considering the financial status of the petitioners, as also their contention that due to financial stringency, the amount could not be deposited earlier, we allow the petitioners to deposit the balance amount due and payable from them as per the chart handed over to the counsel for the petitioners today in the Court within a period of 10 days from today. If such amount is paid within a period of 10 days from today, the same shall be accepted by the respondents and the licenses of the petitioners shall be restored, failing which the licenses of the petitioners shall stand cancelled. 6.

In view of the above, the petition stands disposed of accordingly. 7.
