motion, a Division Bench of this Court had stayed the operation of impugned order dated 12.12.2000 (Annexure P-1), vide order dated 01.06.2001. Thereafter, the matter was admitted for regular hearing, vide order dated 28.02.2002, and it was further directed that the stay earlier granted shall continue.

Learned State counsel submits that nothing survives in the instant writ petition and the same has become infructuous as it was filed way back in the year 2001 and, considering that the term of a Sarpanch is only five years, the term of petitioner as Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Shahpur Nagli, District Gurgaon, must have expired long back. 5.
Keeping in view the above, the present writ petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.

All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed. 7.
Copy of this order be sent to the petitioner at the address given in the Memorandum of Parties.
