SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 10, parents and other relatives of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 06.07.2015 (Annexure P-5) made by the petitioners to Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Lovepreet Kaur is 31.01.1994 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Sarbjit Singh is 07.03.1989 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-2). They allegedly got married on 06.07.2015. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4. Petitioners are now residing at village Nawankot, Police Station Jandiala Guru, District Amritsar.

CRM-M-22017-2015 -2In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, where the parties are now residing, to look into the representation dated 06.07.2015 Annexure P-5 (addressed to Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of certified copy of this order along with representation (Annexure P-5) in his office.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them. July 09, 2015 (SURINDER GUPTA) Sachin M.
