(Oral) The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been preferred by the petitioners for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus seeking appropriate directions to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents.. 2.
It is, inter alia, contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that apprehending threat to their life and liberty, the petitioners had moved a representation dated 12.03.2024 (Annexure P-5) before respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala, but till date no action thereon has been taken. He submits that for the purpose of this petition, the petitioners will be satisfied if directions are given to respondent No.2 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 12.03.2024 (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law in an expeditious manner.
