This is a petition for quashing of the FIR on the basis of compromise. It appears that the parties being related to each other have amicably resolved the controversy.

Since the investigation is at initial stage and is still under progress, I deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition in limine. Notice of motion. On asking of the Court, notice has been accepted by Ms. HK Athwal, DAG, Punjab. Copy given. Counsel for the complainant Mr. K.S. Mamrat, Advocate has appeared to state that the matter has been amicably resolved. The petition is disposed of with a direction that it will be open to the complainant or any other witnesses to appear before the investigating officer and offer statement/ supplementary statement. The investigating officer shall record the statement and it will be open to the investigating agency to opt not to present challan against the petitioners and submit a cancellation report.
