The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport on 24.10.2023. He was embroiled in FIR No. 52 dated 12.06.2014, under Sections 323, 379, 427, 506, 148, 149 of IPC, registered at Police Station, Koom Kalan, District Ludhiana. This Court vide order dated 19.03.2024 passed in CRM-M- 13110 of 2021 has quashed the afore-stated FIR. 3.

Ms. Monica Chawla, Central Government Counsel for Union of India and Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, who on advance notice are present in Court, accept notice and waive service.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, concedes factum of quashing of afore-stated FIR.

Ms. Monica Chawla, Advocate, submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before the passport authority alongwith requisite documents. Thereafter, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order within four weeks.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 8.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before the passport authority on 16.04.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order within four weeks from 16.04.2024.
