The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 10.

Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia contends that youngest son of petitioners No.1 and 2 is not in their control and in the month of December, 2022, he solemnized love marriage with respondent No.5 against their wishes. After marriage, respondent No.5 started demanding share in the property and harassing petitioners No.1 and 2 on one pretext or the other. She also threatened them to implicate in a false dowry case. After getting fed up from the behavior of their son and respondent No.5, they disowned them in June, 2023 from all movable and immovable properties. On 26.01.2024 at around 44.30 in the evening when petitioner No.1 was alone at home, respondent No.5 came there with respondent Nos.9, 6 and 10 and in connivance with each other PANKAJ KUMAR 2024.03.18 18:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP No.2407 of 2024       forcibly entered into the house and manhandled her and caused severe injuries to her. Meanwhile, petitioner No.2 came home and he was also slapped by respondent No.5. Respondent No.5 also threatened petitioners No.1 and 2 that she has acquaintance with police officials and she will implicate them in a false criminal case. In this regard, petitioners No.1 and 2 have given various representation to the police but till today, no action has been taken thereon. It is submitted that they will be satisfied in case representation dated 27.01.2024 (Annexure P-13) is decided by respondent No.3 in a time bound manner and an action is taken thereon in accordance with law. 3.

Notice of motion to the official respondents only. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G., Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice for the official respondents and submits that the representation dated 27.01.2024 (Annexure P-13) will be looked into by respondent No.3 and an action will be taken thereon in accordance with law. Learned counsel for the petitioners is directed to supply a copy of complete paper book to the learned State counsel during the course of the day. 5.

In view of the above, without going into merits of the case, I dispose of this petition with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation dated 27.01.2024 (Annexure P-13) given by the petitioners and take a decision thereon in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
