(ORAL) In the present writ petition, the grievance which is being raised by the petitioner is that his shop caught fire and the same was destroyed in the incident that occurred on 16.09.2014. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the shop in question was insured by the National Insurance Company Limited and as the fire destroyed the whole valuables kept in the shop, the petitioner became entitled for approximately Rs.99,25,000/- as insurance amount. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that despite expiry of approximately 61⁄2 years, the claim of the petitioner has not been settled by the respondents so far and the petitioner is being made to run from pillar to post.

CWP-8657-2021 -2Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that for the relief which has been sought in the present writ petition, petitioner has served respondent No.2-National Insurance Company Limited with a legal notice dated 27.03.2021 (Annexure P-8), which is still pending consideration with respondent No.2 and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said legal notice.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, respondent No.2 is directed to decide the legal notice dated 27.03.2021 (Annexure P-8) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Present writ petition stands disposed of.
