Prayer in this writ petition is for directing expeditious disposal of arbitration case No.ARB-279 of 2018, titled as 'M/s NSP & Co. v. Punjab State Bus Stand Management Co. Ltd. (PUNBUS)' pending before the learned Additional District Judge, U.T. Chandigarh, in a time bound manner. It is submitted that a petition under Section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 was filed by the petitioner challenging award dated 24.01.2018. Reply on behalf of respondent No.1 was filed on 11.03.2019 and thereafter, the matter has been pending due to outbreak of the pandemic, COVID-19. The matter, it is stated, is now pending for 24.05.2022 before the learned Additional District Judge, U.T. Chandigarh. OMKAR SINGH 2022.04.19 12:11 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CWP No.7678 of 2022 [2] It is mentioned in the writ petition that counsel for both the parties are ready to address arguments, however, in the very next breath it is mentioned that delaying tactics are being adopted.

After having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and going through the file, I do not find any ground, at this stage, to issue any specific direction for disposal of the matter in a time bound manner. Needless to say, learned Additional District Judge, U.T. Chandigarh being conscious of the proceedings being under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and the settled position of law, would necessarily take the required measures. Writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
