(Oral) Prayer in the present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ, order or direction, to the respondent authorities for the protection of life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members from the hands of the private respondents. 2.

In compliance to order dated 22.03.2024, status report dated 10.04.2024, by way of affidavit of Madhvi Sharma, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Nawanshahr, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 4, has been filed by learned State counsel.

Learned State counsel refers to para No.6 of above said status report and contends now there is no threat perception to the petitioner and his family members at the hands of private respondents. KAVITA NAIN 2024.07.26 13:14 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document order/judgment

CRWP-2718-2024 - 2 - Para No.6 of status report reproduced as under:- "6. That it is respectfully submitted that the petitioner is residing in United States of America (USA). It is further submitted that neither the petitioner nor his family members has any threat perception from private respondents as alleged in this petition. It is further submitted that if the petitioner moves any complaint regarding threat perception to his life and liberty in future then the same will be looked into expeditiously and if necessary, then requisite steps will be taken, strictly in accordance with law."

Be that as it may, this Court itself has gone through the reply filed by the State and has noticed that due attention and care has been given to the grouse of the petitioner and an assurance for providing the police protection as and when need arises has also been detailed in the status report. 5.

Believing the stand of the State as taken in the status report, I am of the view that no issue is left for this Court to entertain the prayer made in the petition regarding providing protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner.

Thus, in view of the observations made hereinabove, present petition stands disposed of.
