Learned State counsel submits that the petitioner is seeking protection of his life and liberty and the police has verified this fact but found no threat to his life and liberty. Reply to this effect has already been filed.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to approach Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran as and when he apprehends threat to his life and liberty. On his moving such representation, the same be verified and appropriate action, as required, be taken.

However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioner from any action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against him in accordance with law.
