(ORAL) The instant Petition has been filed under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking Regular Bail on behalf of the Petitioner in case FIR No.67, dated 01.09.2019, registered under Sections 324, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, (offence under Section 326 of the IPC added later on) at Police Station Mallanwala, District Ferozepur. 2.

The Petitioner has remained in detention for more than 4 months since 6th December, 2020.

After completion of investigation, Challan against the Petitioner has already been submitted but the trial is yet to commence. 5.

In the circumstances, without commenting upon the other merits of the case and keeping in view the fact that the trial is likely to take a considerable time to conclude in view of the on-going Covid-19 DEEPAK KUMAR 2013.07.18 00:04 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-16075-2021 -2Pandemic, at this stage, this Court is of the opinion that further detention of the Petitioner for an indefinite period is not justified. As such, he is ordered to be released on bail subject to the satisfaction of the Ld. Trial Court/Duty Magistrate concerned.
