**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No.1 to 3, to provide protection of life and liberty to the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of private respondents.

On the last date of hearing i.e. on 09.04.2021, while issuing notice of motion, learned State counsel was directed to seek instructions as to whether any FIR stands registered against petitioner No.2 with respect to the abduction/kidnapping of petitioner No.1. Besides, the State counsel was also directed to verify and apprise the Court about the factum of threat perception to the petitioners, as alleged in the instant petition and whether representation dated 05.04.2021 (Annexure P-5) has been received in the office of respondent No.2 - SSP, Yamuna Nagar, or not ? In compliance thereto, learned State counsel on instructions has apprised this Court that no FIR/DDR stands registered against petitioner No.2. He has further submitted that as per the investigation carried out in JAWALA RAM 2021.04.23 17:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-3454-2021 - 2 - the matter, the family of petitioner No.1 is not averse to the marriage of the petitioners, therefore, there is no threat to their life and liberty. Faced with this situation, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the instant petition may be disposed of, in the light of the statement made by learned State counsel in Court today.
