Vide this common order, I intend to dispose of CWP Nos.6568 and 6571 of 2026, as common questions of law and facts are involved for adjudication. For the sake of convenience, facts are taken from CWP-6568-2026.

Prayer in the writ petition (CWP-6568-2026) filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in MOHD YAKUB 2026.03.06 16:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.

CWP-6568-2026 & CWP-6571-2026 the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release the amount of interest on delayed payment of service-cum-retirement benefits of deceased mother of petitioner @ 18% per annum in view of the Full Bench judgment of this Court in A.S. Randhawa vs State of Punjab, 1997(3) SCT 468 and in view of the Government Instructions dated 07.08.2014 (Annexure P-4). Further a writ of certiorari has been sought, for quashing the impugned speaking order dated 14.08.2025 (Annexure P-3).

Learned State counsel as well as learned counsel for respondent No.3, at the outset, submits that the entire admissible dues including interest have been paid to both the petitioner(s) and therefore, both the writ petitions have been rendered infructuous. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner(s) affirms the statement made by learned State counsel as well as learned counsel for respondent No.3 and submits that the grievance raised by the petitioner(s) have been duly redressed.

In view of the above, both the present writ petitions are disposed of having been rendered infructuous. 6.
