(ORAL) The petitioners have joined hands to prefer this petition for seeking the relief of the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to issue roll numbers to them and also to allow them to appear in the Basic Proficiency Test scheduled to be held on 10th and 11th April, 2021, while averring that the Circular/letter issued for inviting the options from the eligible Constables to appear in the abovesaid Test had not been properly notified to them and therefore, they could not apply for appearing in the said Test within the stipulated period and though, petitioners No.1 and 2 moved representations dated 30.03.2021 as tagged in Annexure P-6 (colly) to AIG, STF, Jalandhar and the remaining petitioners also preferred a joint representation in the office of respondent No.2 for seeking the redressal of their aforeNEETU RANI 2021.04.08 14:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC

mentioned grievance but the same have not yet been decided. Ms. Anju Sharma Kaushik, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, has appeared in this case on behalf of all the respondents, in pursuance of the copies of this petition having been sent to the respondent-State in advance.

Heard.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied in case a direction is issued to respondent No.4 to consider and decide the said representations dated 30.03.2021 as preferred by petitioners No.1 and 2 as well as the joint representation moved by the remaining petitioners, within some specific time-frame. Learned State counsel has no objection for the same. Keeping in view the above-discussed limited prayer of learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting upon the merits of the matter in hand, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar, to consider and decide the above-said representations of petitioners No.

1 and 2 as tagged in Annexure P-6(colly) and the joint representation of the remaining petitioners, if any, in accordance with the law/relevant rules, by passing a speaking order thereon, on 09.04.2021. If there need be, respondent No.
