The petitioner has been in custody for the last more than one year in a case of recovery of 2200 tablets containing alprazolam salt. The next date of hearing before the trial court is 19.1.2015 and only one prosecution witness remains to be examined.

Taking into consideration the quantity of the salt and the stage of the trial, I deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition with a direction to the trial court that in case the prosecution evidence is not concluded by 20.2.2015, it will release the petitioner on bail on his furnishing bail bonds/ surety bonds to its satisfaction.
