The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Advocate, inter alia contends that petitioner was issued passport on 20.08.2019 which is valid upto 19.08.2029. She has never used said passport. She has found that there is mistake in the date of birth. Her actual date of birth is 16.05.1988 whereas in the passport it is recorded as 16.05.1989. She has applied for re-issuance of passport with correct particulars. The police has submitted verification report still respondents have not issued passport with correct particulars. 3.

Mr. Vishal Garg, Sr. Panel Counsel submits that the petitioner has been issued show cause notice dated 06.11.2023. She may be directed to file reply to aforesaid notice and appear before passport authority along with Anju Goel 2024.04.30 18:10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Advocate agrees to aforesaid arrangement. 5.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before passport authorities on 23.05.2024 along with requisite documents and file reply to the show cause notice. Thereafter, passport authority shall pass appropriate order within 08 weeks.
