**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Counsel for the petitioner argues that once the benefit of the ACP after 24 years has been granted to the petitioner w.e.f. 30.07.2000, he has become entitled for the grant of interest on the said arrears, which have been released to him in pursuance to the order dated 23.05.2018 granting him the benefit of ACP after 24 years of service. Counsel argue that as the said benefit for which the petitioner was entitled for in the year 2000, was actually released to him in the year 2018 for which he needs to be compensated by the grant of interest on the delayed release of the payments.
Counsel for the petitioner further states that for the relief which has been sought in the present writ petition, petitioner has served the respondents with a legal notice on 05.09.2018 (Annexure P-8), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will NARESH KUMAR 2019.05.14 12:21 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 05.09.2018 (Annexure P-8) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
