***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J. (Oral) The petitioners who claim themselves to be major have approached this Court seeking protection of their lives as they apprehend threat to the same, having married against the wishes of their parents and relatives. 2.

It is stated that while it is the first marriage of petitioner No.1, the petitioner No.2 was married earlier to Harpreet Kaur daughter of Kehar Singh resident of village Mauzzudeenpur, Tehsil Chamkaur Sahib, District Rupnagar, Punjab whose marriage is stated to have been dissolved by an agreement in 'Panchayat' (Annexure P-5). 3.

While refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioners approach the police authorities concerned by way of filing a detailed representation with regard to their alleged threat perception, the same shall be got examined by Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana (respondent No.2), expeditiously in GAURAV SOROT 2020.03.20 12:25 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

A copy of this order be sent to Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. 5.

It is however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be construed to be an expression as regards validity of the alleged marriage of the parties. 6.

It is clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be treated to have conferred any kind of immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
