Taranjot Singh v. State Of Punjab And Another
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-15165-2022 Date of Decision: 12.04.2022 Taranjot Singh ......... Petitioners
Versus
State of Punjab and another ......... Respondents
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANOOP CHITKARA Present:- Ms. Sushma Chopra, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. R.S. Khaira, AAG, Punjab.
**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL) The petitioner has come up before this Court for grant of interim bail to attend the Shagun and Marriage Ceremony of his brother to be held on 21.04.2022 and 22.04.2022.
Learned State counsel has opposed such attendance on the ground that the petitioner has a huge criminal history and there is likelihood that he can flee from the custody.
A perusal of the criminal history does not entitle the petitioner any relief as sought for.
However, in case, the newly wedded couple jointly or separately wants to meet the petitioner to take his blessings, they would be permitted to do so and concerned Jail Superintendent to provide a separate clean room with beverages and ensure that they meet the petitioner at least for two hours.
The present petition is disposed of. All pending applications, if any, stand disposed of.
