ANUPINDER SINGH GREWAL, J. (ORAL) The petitioner is seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No.31 dated 13.04.2017 under Section 420 IPC registered at Police Station Ghagga, Patiala.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the allegations in the FIR which has been registered after one year, are that the petitioner along with Amrinder Singh and Nahar Singh has cheated the complainant by accepting ` 14 lacs on the pretext of giving appointment to his two sons and daughter-in-law. He further contends that the petitioner is an agriculturist, residing in Abohar and has been falsely implicated. He further contends that no other person has come forward with similar allegations and no other case has ever been registered against the petitioner. This Court vide order dated 04.08.2017 had directed the petitioner to join investigation and in the event of his arrest, he was ordered to be released on ad-interim bail to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer, subject to the conditions envisaged under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.

CRM-M-22942-2017 -2Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Sher Singh, states that in pursuance to the order dated 04.08.2017, the petitioner has joined investigation and is not required for custodial interrogation. In view of the above and without expressing any opinion on the merits of case, the order dated 04.08.2017, granting ad-interim bail to the petitioner, is hereby made absolute. However, the petitioner shall abide by the conditions envisaged under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
