Jasvir Singh v. State Of Punjab & ORS.
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH.
Crl. Misc. No.M-22907 of 2015 (O&M) Date of Decision: July 16, 2015.
Jasvir Singh ..........PETITIONER(s).
VERSUS
State of Punjab and others ........RESPONDENT(s).
CORAM:- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURINDER GUPTA
Present:
Mr. R.S. Rana, Advocate for the petitioner (s).
******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Heard.
There is matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and respondent No.4.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that earlier a compromise took place between the parties but the same fizzled out. Now, he is apprehending danger to his life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6.
Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation made by petitioner Annexure P/1 and verify if the petitioner has any threat to his life and liberty. In the event of any threat to life and liberty of petitioner is observed, respondent No.2 shall take appropriate action as required under law.
It is, however, made clear that nothing contained in this order shall be read as providing protection to petitioner in any civil or criminal proceedings instituted or pending against him. ( SURINDER GUPTA ) July 16, 2015.
