***** ARCHANA PURI, J. (Oral) Reply by way of affidavit, along with the speaking order, has been filed by the respondent(s)-authorities, which is taken on record. As per the operative paragraph of the speaking order dated 18.03.2026, the department has agreed for fixation of pay, as per instructions, as detailed in the preceding paragraph and stated therein that the revised Dearness Allowance rates, as admissible to other government employees of the State, shall be paid to the petitioners. It was also observed in the speaking order that the arrears, if any, payable on re-fixation, as per the instructions dated 05.01.2026, shall also be payable. However, in the speaking order, no specified period has been mentioned, up to which, the entire exercise, vis-a-vis, fixation of the revised dearness allowance and the arrears, shall be worked upon. COCP-958-2026 On query by the court, learned State counsel submits that Ms. Guramritreet Kaur, Legal Assistant, is present in the Court today, but however, she is also unable to state, as to within which period, the necessary compliance can be made.

However, keeping in view the observations made in the speaking order, necessary compliance for the work on of the Dearness Allowance, as well as its arrears and the release of the same to the petitioners, shall be complied by the Department, within a period of four months from today onwards.

In view of the time bound direction given by the court and the speaking order, so passed, at this stage, counsel for the petitioners submits that he does not want to pursue with the present contempt petition and the same be dismissed as withdrawn, with the clause of revival, if need arises. Ordered accordingly.
