Ms. Vasundhra Dalal Anand, Addl. P.P. U.T. Chandigarh. HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The letter dated 27.02.2020 sent by the petitioner to the Secretariat of Hon'ble the Chief Justice of this Court, was taken on judicial side and treated as a criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution.
It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter, namely, Suman has been illegally detained by Aman Gupta, resident of House No.2028, Sector 21-C, Chanidgarh, for the last six months. It is also stated in the letter that Aman Gupta promised to pay Rs.10,000/- per month to her, but no payment had been made, and rather she has not been provided with food and given beatings. It is prayed that the daughter of the petitioner be got released from the custody of Aman Gupta. Today, status report dated 09.09.2021 by way of affidavit of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (East), Chandigarh, has been filed in the Registry. The same is taken on record. CRWP-2905-2020 /2/ Alongwith the status report, separate statements got recorded by detenue and Aman Gupta have been attached with the report as Annexures R-1 and R-2, respectively. A perusal of the statement of detenue would reveal that she is 25-year old and happily working and residing with the family of Aman Gupta and does not wish to meet or go with her parents as according to her, they harass her for money. Further, a perusal of the statement of Aman Gupta would also reveal that the alleged detenue has been working in his house for the last two years and he has even advised her to leave the job and join her family, but she is not willing to it.
In view of the above, no case for interference is made out. Dismissed.
