M.M.S. BEDI, J. (ORAL) Petitioners, on the basis of compromise, seek quashing of FIR No.52 dated 7.5.2015, under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Daresi, Ludhiahna. The said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent No.2 Himanshu Arora, alleging that the petitioners in connivance with each other had cheated the complainant and his family on the pretext of opening account but instead they made insurance policy of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited without knowledge and consent of the complainant and converted the valuable security into their own benefit causing wrongful loss to the

CRM-M-22968-2015 (O&M) complainant.

The parties appeared before the Illaqua Magistrate and got their statements recorded. The complainant has made a statement that he had compromised the matter and has received the money back.

In view of said circumstances, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Following the judgment in case Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab, 2007(3) RCR (Crl.), Page-1052, the petition is allowed. The above said FIR and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise subject to petitioners depositing a total sum of Rs.10,000/- with the Punjab State Legal Service Authority and another sum of Rs.5,000/- with the Punjab Police Welfare Fund, Sector 9, Chandigarh, within a period of one month.
