Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, both the petitioners have filed the present petition with a prayer to direct the official respondents to decide the representation dated 26.02.2026 (Annexure P.6). 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners are major. Petitioner No.1 is stated to be major being born on 24.03.1985. Date of birth of petitioner No.2 is 07.07.1999. Copies of their Aadhar Cards have been annexed as Annexures P-1 and P-2, respectively. Learned counsel further submits that petitioner No.1 was earlier married with one Avtar Singh and out of said wedlock, three children were born, who are living with petitioner No.1. It is further submitted that unfortunately, husband of petitioner No.1, Avtar Singh passed away due to heart attack on 15.07.2024. Both the petitioners have performed marriage on 26.02.2026.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Gautam Thapar, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 and has no objection in deciding the representation filed on behalf of the petitioners. 5.

In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with direction to official respondents to decide the representation dated 26.02.2026 (Annexure P.6) within a period of MANOJ KUMAR 2026.03.10 22:43 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order

CRWP-2420-2026 four weeks. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken at the earliest, so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. 6.
