R.P. Nagrath, J. (Oral) Prayer in the instant petition is made under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for seeking direction to respondent no. 2 to protect life and liberty of the petitioner. Prayer is also made to issue direction to respondents no. 3 and 4 not to harass, humiliate and physically and mentally torture the petitioner by frequently calling him in the police station and detaining him in police custody for hours.
Notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, Mr. Ankur Jain, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 4. Let requisite number of copies of paper-book be supplied to learned State counsel during the course of day. In view of the order proposed to be passed, there is no necessity of seeking response from the State. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner was a drug addict and also remained admitted in the De-addiction Centre for sometime but he is being constantly harassed even thereafter.

The instant petition is disposed of with a direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to look into the representation (Annexure P-3) and take appropriate steps, if required, in accordance with law.
