Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondent No.2 to decide the appeal dated 30.10.2023 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner against the orders dated 15.11.2016/21.11.2016 (Annexure P-1) passed by respondent No.1, imposing a punishment of Rs.6,99,602/- upon the petitioner. Further prayer has been made to stay the operation of the orders dated 15.11.2016/21.11.2016 (Annexure P-1), during the pendency of the present petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding the appeal dated 30.10.2023 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner expeditiously by passing a speaking order within a time bound manner.

Mr. Sohrab Dhanda, Advocate has put in appearance for Mr. Anil Kumar, Advocate, on behalf of the respondents and submits that the appeal filed by the petitioner shall be decided within a period of 03 months.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

In view of the aforesaid stand of the counsel for the respondents, the present petition is disposed of with directions that the appeal dated 30.10.2023 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner pending before the Appellate Authority shall be decided within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 7.

The petition stands disposed of.
