In terms of Policy framed by the Government, she applied for extension of service. Her prayer has been rejected vide order dated 07.02.2019, Annexure P-4. Operative part of the order reads as under:- "Regarding the above subject, the case received vide letter under reference of Sh. Sukhdev Pal, Supervisor son of Sh. Sadhu Ram and Smit. Praveen Lata, Supervisor, for extension of one year in service are returned back with the remarks that as per instructions of Punjab Government Finance Department (Finance Personnel-2 branch), Chandigarh letter No.22/2/2012-3FP2/607 dated 26.11.

2012, category of Supervisor is surplus at Ranjit Sagar Dam Project and Shahpur Kandi Dam Project at this time. Therefore, extension in service for one year to the above-mentioned employees cannot be given. So, the cases are rejected." Besides, grant of extension is not a right vested in an employee as he/she is entitled to all the retiral benefits on superannuation. Petition is without any merit and is hereby dismissed.
