SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 and 5, father and brother of petitioner No.2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Gurjit Singh is 01.01.1994 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Radha Rani is 08.03.1994 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-2). They allegedly got married on 14.07.2015. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4. Learned counsel for the petitioners confined the relief claimed in this petition to the extent that the petitioners be allowed to submit representation before the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, which may be disposed of in accordance with law.

In view of the limited relief claimed by learned counsel for the

CRM-M-23205-2015 -2petitioners, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to file representation before the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, apprising him about threat to their life and liberty. On receipt of such representation, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar shall verify if there exist any threat to life and liberty of petitioners and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted or anticipated against them. July 17, 2015 (SURINDER GUPTA) 'raj'
