Prayer is to grant pre-arrest bail to the petitioner in FIR No. 64 dated 04.04.2020, registered under Sections 7 and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988 and Section 269 IPC, at Police Station City Patti, District Tarn Taran (Punjab).

In a nutshell, case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was seen collecting illegal gratification while issuing fake curfew passes during the curfew notified due to COVID-19 pandemic.

A video to that effect had gone viral. The Petitioner, at the relevant time, was working as a member of the disciplined force i.e. Punjab Police.

Keeping in view the facts of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant the benefit of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Dismissed.
