***** KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Case has been heard through video conferencing on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.

The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their lives and liberty, pleading that both of them are major and have performed marriage against the wishes of their parents and family members of petitioner No.1 and there is threat to their lives and liberty. Notice of motion.

At this stage, Mr. Anupam Bansal, Addl. P.P., U.T. Chandigarh accepts notice on behalf of respondents Nos.1 to 3. The learned Addl. P.P., U.T. Chandigarh submitted that yesterday both the parties were called to the Police Station, Maloya where their statements were recorded. The parents of petitioner No.1 specifically stated before the police that they will not cause any harm to the petitioners and earlier also they never threatened the petitioners in any manner. The Addl. P.P., U.T. Chandigarh further contended that in the light of the above, GAURAV SOROT 2021.04.12 17:42 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-3554-2021 the present petition has become infructuous.

At this stage, the counsel for the petitioners submitted that in the light of the aforesaid statement made by Addl. P.P. U.T. Chandigarh, he withdraws the present petition at this stage with liberty to approach the Court if in future there is any threat perception to the petitioners. Accordingly, this petition is hereby disposed of being rendered infructuous with aforesaid liberty.
