(ORAL) Both the petitioners have approached this Court, by way of the instant petition, for seeking the relief of the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to allow them to change their earlier option regarding the grant of Revised Pay Scale w.e.f. 01.01.2006 and to opt for the grant of the same w.e.f. 01.11.2006 and also to direct the respondents not to effect any recovery from them and also not to reduce their salary, while averring that because of the said option exercised by them earlier, they are suffering financial loss and the persons, junior to them in service, are getting higher pay scales and though, they served legal notice dated 30.01.2021 (Annexure P-16) to the respondents for seeking the redressal of their afore-mentioned grievance but in vain.

Mr. Pawan Sharda, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab has joined the proceedings on behalf of all the respondents in this case, in pursuance of the copies of this petition having been sent to the respondent-State in advance.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied in case a direction is issued to respondent No.3 to look into and deal with/decide their said legal notice (Annexure P-16), within some specific time-frame.

Learned State counsel has no objection for the same. Keeping in view the above-discussed limited prayer of learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting upon the merits of the matter in hand, the instant writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Director Public Instructions (EE), Punjab, to look into and deal with/decide the said legal notice of the petitioners (Annexure P-16) in accordance with the law/relevant Rules, by passing a speaking order thereon, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order.
